EDT 6005 |
Selecting and using information and communication technologies to facilitate learning and creative expression are the main focus. Candidates will design interactive multimedia instruction that engages and promotes individual’s innovative thinking and inventiveness in various learning environments. Candidates use audio/ video software, productivity tools, and knowledge construction tools to design and develop digital instructional resources. Topics include learning theories and motivation, the design of interactive learning environments, collaboration, and creativity. |
EDT 6010 |
The design, development, and evaluation of digital learning experiences for the purpose of facilitating digital-age learning are the main foci. Candidates use software applications and digital media production tools to design and develop authentic learning experiences that promote innovative thinking, creativity, integrative assessment for learning, and self-assessment. Developing personalized technology-related professional development plans for review and reflection will provide a basis for growing professionally in an increasingly digital world. Topics include instructional design, visual literacy, computer-based instruction, and assessment/evaluation for individualized and collaborative learning environments. Discussion forum topics focus on ways to enhance and enrich professional practice by participating in shared decision-making and community building of curricula. |
EDT 6020 |
This course explores the latest trends in technology that are likely to have an impact on communication, collaboration, creative expression, and the intellectual curiosity. Course work will focus on (a) researching new technologies, (b) designing and developing instruction for virtual spaces, and (c) creating web-based environments for collaboration and communication with local and global audiences. Candidates will be immersed in learning how to integrate, adapt, or apply technology into their practice for the purpose of communication, collaboration, and to engage others as willing partners in using technology. |
EDT 6035 |
Inquire about societal, ethical, and legal issues associated with information and communication technologies. Using web-based applications, candidates create learning environments and design instructional units. Topics include social issues and responsibilities, equitable access, assistive technologies, laws and policies, and internet safety and security. |
EDT 6045 |
The course is a capstone course focused on professional capacity to facilitate the adoption and diffusion of a new technology initiative. The project requires conducting inquiry into the management of a technology initiative, writing a technology plan for implementation, and sharing a prototype and data results with an established local or global learning community. Candidates will be involved in shared decision-making and collaboration while demonstrating fluency in technology. Topics explored include adoption and diffusion, data-driven decisions, legal issues, professional development, and professional leadership capacity. |
